Asenna edubuntu server 8.04 ja valitse ltsp-asennus f4:lla asennuksen alkuvaiheessa.
Tee verkkoasetukset käsin ja muista tarkastaa, ettei verkossa ole muita dhcp-palvelimia.

Jos Firefox on englanninkielinen asenna http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla ... win32/xpi/ Valitsi fi.xpi.

Tämä siksi, ettei systeemi jostain syystä toimi.
Aja codekit
- Tähän on varmaan parempiakin keinoja mutta tää on ylivoimaisesti helpoin =).
Yritä soittaa jotain mp3-biisiä. Toteemi aukeaa ja ilmoittaa ettei ole sopivaa codekkia. Etsi oikea codekki ja valitse molemmat.
Asenna ja siinä kaikki.
- Siirry adoben sivuille ja etsi kaikista latauksista linux:n .deb-paketti.
Kun se on imuroitu niin asenna kaksoisklikkaamalla, jolloin aukeaa synapticin asennusjuttu.

Asenna FlashPayer
- Mene Synaptikin pakettienhallintaan ja kirjoita haku-kenttään flashplayer.
Valitse kaikki paketit asennettaviksi.
Asennukseen jälkeen jos selain on auki niin sulje se ja avaa uusiksi ja homman pitäisi toimia

Jotta Java toimisi selaimessa, tarvitset selainliitännäisen.

Asenna Samba
Synaptic-pakettienhallinnasta. Etsi hakusanalla samba ja valitse listalta Samba.
Luo Sambaa varten tarvittavat kansiot:
- Luodaan samba-kansio mkdir /home/samba
Luodaan netlogon-kansio johon tulevat logon-scriptit. Nimen pitää olla logon.cmd mkdir /home/samba/netlogon
Luodaan profiilikansio johon tulevat windows-profiilit mkdir /home/samba/profiles
Määritellään omistajat chown -R root:users /home/samba/
Annetaan kaikki oikeudet. Pääsyoikeudet määritellään smb.conf:ssa. Täydet oikeudet vaaditaan jotta uudet käyttäjät voivat luoda omat profiilit ja muutokset profiiliin tallentuvat. chmod -R 777 /home/samba/
- Luodaan ryhmä groupadd -g 201 machines
Luodaan konetili useradd -g machines -d /dev/null -c "konenimi" -s /bin/false konenimi$
Määritellään salasana passwd -l konenimi$
Määritellään sambasalasanan smbpasswd -a -m konenimi
Uudet käyttäjät on helpointa luoda Webmin:llä. Siitä ohje alempana Webmin-kohdassa.

Jos haluat bootata kovalevyltä homma on hieman vaikeampi. Toimi seuraavasti.

Pura isokuva johonkin sopivaan paikkaan
Nimeä iso-kuvassa ollut ajuri AjurinNimi.krn muotoon AjurinNimi.lil (tarkasta levykkeeltä oikean ajurin nimi. Saat sen selville myös käynnistämällä client-kone levykkeeltä.) Ajurin nimi pitää olla sama kuin levykkeellä oleva ajuri.
Kopioi uudelleennimetty ajuri levykkeelle ja korvaa vanha. (Tämä siksi, että levykkeellä oleva ajuri lataa img-tiedoston palvelimelta ja uusi ajuri PXE-tiedoston)
Käynnistä levykkeeltä ja valitse listalta INSTALL etherboot to hard disk / MODIFY this floppy
Valitse kohta 2 -HD Install STEP 1 - clear partition table, create FAT partition, write MBR
Asennuksen loputtua kone käynnistyy itsekseen. Älä poista levykettä vaan anna käynnistyä levykkeeltä.
Valitse listalta INSTALL etherboot to hard disk / MODIFY this floppy
Valitse kohta 5 -HD Install STEP 2 - format, install Etherboot (just a single driver)
Asennuksen lopussa älä poista levykettä vaan anna bootata ja poista bootin aikana levyke.
Tämän jälkeen, jos olet kopioinut oikean ajurin levykkeelle, homman pitäisi toimia =).
VINKKI: Jos et tiedä mitä ajuria käytetään, boottaa ennen levykkeen muokkausta client levykkeeltä. Silloin näet minkä nimistä ajuria käytetään.
